The "Birth" of Night Ops Empty The "Birth" of Night Ops

Post  LordSilent Tue Jul 05, 2011 12:05 pm

Night Ops wasn't so much born as created in a laboratory using the stolen DNA of Batman and Harley Danelle Longfellow. To this day little is remembered about what all was done to Vladimir, the only name he recalls going by while there. He recalls much training, and various painfull tests and experimentations. His true memories start on the day Stampede invaded the facility on a mission and happened to come across Vladimir. Rather than leave him in the reckage, he freed the by then 10 year old kid and took him back to the ranch so his parents could take care of him. Unknown to the family or Vladimir was the fact that one of his dna contributors was Stampedes mother. From 10 to 17 Vladimir grew up an almost normal life at the Ranch, though he did his best to keep his skills and powers a secret from the family in fear of being shunned or cast out. At 17 he thought it best to join the military and took to it well, earning the rank of 1st Sergeant and more so before the day that braniac invaded....

Durning the initial stages of the invasion Vladimir was separated from his unit during a fierce battle with some braniac overseer's. Rounding a corner he was ambushed by several of Braniac's robots and knocked unconcious. He awoke in the braniac ship, dissoriented, confused, and with his powers for some strange reason going into overdrive. He looked for a way out and for some strange reason saw a ball of white and black in a corner. Curious what it was he investigated, and found it to be a baby panda of all things. Assuming it had gotten taken by accident during the fighting from a zoo or something he modified his backpack to hold the panda, and vowed to save it from the ship along with himself.

As he fought his way out, he realised his powers could be used for good, that he could help not only himself but others against this menace and whatever else the world had out there. With the help of Superman he finally escaped the ship, and made it to the police station. He found out there his unit had been wiped out, and he was assumed KIA. Seeing a few other dissoriented heroes there made him finally decide to become like superman and the hero he idolised Batman and work for the better good of humanity. Along his travels he grew accustomed to protecting the panda, never thinking to try and find it a new home, thinking it was safer with him than without. During his travels he met Stampeded again, and fought alongside him on many a battle, eventually proving himself enough to be invited into the Phantom Regiment that Stampede was a member of.

To date Stampede and Night Ops are not aware of their linked past, Batman though has taken an interest in Night Ops. Mentoring him but not revealing the knowledge he gained. Perhaps someday in the future it will be revealed, only time will tell.....
